World of 8 Billion Student Video Contest 2026–2027

The 2026–27 World of 8 Billion Student Video Contest asks students to research one of three global topics—City Planning, Fresh Water Use or Extreme Weather—and explain how population growth affects the issue while proposing a sustainable solution. Entries are capped at 60 seconds and may be produced individually or collaboratively. High-school winners receive cash prizes, with additional global and regional recognition.

High-school division: grades 9–12. Students from anywhere in the world may enter. Individual and group entries are accepted; each entry must identify one Lead Producer.

Submit a video of 60 seconds or less addressing one current topic, connecting it to population growth and presenting a sustainable solution. Complete all portions of the online entry form, include the required title-screen information, use original or properly licensed material, maintain works-cited information, and provide required permission/consent forms when applicable.
