Competitive seven-week UCSB program pairing high-school students with university researchers for interdisciplinary, hands-on research.
About this opportunity
UCSB Research Mentorship Program pairs high-achieving students with graduate-student, postdoctoral or faculty mentors across many disciplines. The 2027 program begins with a short virtual component and then continues on campus, combining university-level research, GRIT research talks and final research communication.
Who can apply
Open to high-school students in grades 10–11; exceptional grade 9 students may be considered case-by-case. Minimum weighted GPA is 3.80. International applicants are eligible.
What you'll need to apply
Online application, application fee and required academic materials. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Need-based scholarship consideration is requested through the application after admission.
