Two-week Notre Dame residential summer program introducing high-performance computing, simulations, AI and machine learning through hands-on research computing.
About this opportunity
The Research Computing track of Notre Dame Summer Scholars introduces students to high-performance computing and computational approaches used across science and technology. Students build small-scale supercomputers, run simulations, explore AI and machine learning, work with visualization tools, and visit a data center and U.S. Department of Energy laboratory. Prior computing experience is not required.
Who can apply
Current high-school sophomores and juniors who will be rising juniors or seniors and are at least 16 by August 1, 2027. International students may apply; English proficiency testing is required for applicants who do not attend an English-speaking high school.
What you'll need to apply
Online application, transcript, counselor report, teacher recommendation and $75 application fee. Standardized test scores are encouraged but optional. Need-based financial-aid requests are due with the application.

$75 application fee. Summer Scholars 2027 program cost is $5,200, including the $300 enrollment fee and $4,900 tuition/housing/dining amount.
