International Public Policy Forum 2026–2027

The International Public Policy Forum is a global debate competition managed by the Brewer Foundation and jointly administered with New York University. Teams begin by researching the annual public-policy resolution and submitting a qualifying essay of up to 3,000 words. The top 64 advance to single-elimination written debates, and the Elite Eight receive funded travel to New York City for live oral debates at NYU School of Law. The competition emphasizes evidence, research, persuasive writing, public speaking, and rigorous policy analysis.

All team members must be full-time high-school students in U.S. Grades 9–12 or the international equivalent. Teams must have 3–6 students. Homeschool teams are permitted. Each student may participate on only one team.

Register the team and coach through the official IPPF form and pay the registration fee. Teams then submit an original English-language qualifying essay of no more than 3,000 words on the 2026–2027 resolution, with MLA citations, a required cover page, works cited, and the official honor pledge. Teams that advance continue through written debate rounds and, for the Elite Eight, live oral debates in New York.
