About this opportunity

NSEP is the Physics National Standard Examination in India’s five-stage Science Olympiad Programme coordinated through IAPT and HBCSE-TIFR. Strong performers can progress through later national selection stages toward India’s International Physics Olympiad team.

Who can apply

For the 2026–2027 Astronomy/Biology/Chemistry/Physics pathway, students must be eligible to hold an Indian passport, have a date of birth from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2012, be residing/studying in India or in an Indian school system since November 30, 2024, and be in Class X, XI or XII at enrolment. OCI students may participate through specified prior stages but are not eligible for selection to the Indian international team under the current court-based policy. What you'll need to apply

Students enrol at their own registered NSE school/college or at another nearby registered NSE centre if their school is not a centre. The enrolment fee is paid to the centre in charge.
