India National Standard Examination in Biology (NSEB) 2026–2027

NSEB is the Biology National Standard Examination in India’s five-stage Science Olympiad Programme coordinated through IAPT and HBCSE-TIFR. High-performing students can advance through the Indian National Olympiad and training-selection stages toward the International Biology Olympiad.

For the 2026–2027 Astronomy/Biology/Chemistry/Physics pathway, students must be eligible to hold an Indian passport, have a date of birth from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2012, be residing/studying in India or in an Indian school system since November 30, 2024, and be in Class X, XI or XII at enrolment. OCI students may participate through specified prior stages but are not eligible for selection to the Indian international team under the current court-based policy. Students enrol at their own registered NSE school/college or at another nearby registered NSE centre if their school is not a centre. The enrolment fee is paid to the centre in charge.
