University of Waterloo full-solution mathematics contests for Grades 9–11, open to international schools.
About this opportunity
The Fryer, Galois and Hypatia Contests are grade-specific mathematics competitions emphasizing full solutions, mathematical communication and critical thinking. Participants complete four progressively challenging questions in 75 minutes.
Who can apply
Fryer is for Grade 9, Galois for Grade 10 and Hypatia for Grade 11; mapped to ages 14–17. International schools may participate.
What you'll need to apply
A school Contest Supervisor must order and supervise the contest. Participants write individually and completed materials are returned to CEMC for marking.
Cost & funding
Cost: Paid
CAD $12 per participant plus CAD $5 processing per order. Schools outside Canada also pay shipping equal to 15% of the contest order total, with a CAD $10 minimum, and arrange/pay return shipping.
