International University of Waterloo mathematics contests for students in Grades 9–12, combining short-answer and full-solution problems.
About this opportunity
The Canadian Intermediate Mathematics Contest (CIMC) and Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest (CSMC) run concurrently by grade level. Participants complete nine mathematics problems in two hours, including answer-only and full-solution questions, under school supervision.
Who can apply
CIMC is intended for Grades 9–10 and CSMC for Grades 11–12/CÉGEP; mapped to ages 14–18 for YourRoute. International schools may participate.
What you'll need to apply
A school Contest Supervisor orders and administers the contest. Participants write individually on paper. Completed materials must be returned to CEMC for marking.
Cost & funding
Cost: Paid
CAD $14 per participant plus CAD $5 processing per order. For schools outside Canada, shipping is 15% of the contest order total with a CAD $10 minimum, and schools arrange/pay return shipping.
